RAID for PC

Our latest e-mail blast brought up a few questions regarding the use of Mirrored Raids on a PC. My tips regarding their use are a little Mac-centric as I am a Mac user. I like to give first-hand experience whenever I can, and since I don't use PCs, I don't have any first-hand experience. With PCs, I only know what I’ve read, so I’ll pass that along, offering you a few places to search for answers if you are using a PC.

With Windows, the ability to format two drives as a RAID is built in, so you should be able to attach two drives and format them as a Mirrored RAID.

There area also many dedicated RAID cards for the PC, such as these by Highpoint: http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/sataII_pcie.htm.

The tools are out there and easy to find...it’s just a matter of plugging them in, and getting them to work.
