Testing the NEC P221W Monitor

We just bought a NEC P221W monitor for $391 from Amazon. It's supposed to cover 96% of AdobeRGB. We'll be testing it side by side with our $1,400 NEC LCD2690WUXi, and will tell you how it compares.

Please let us know how it goes- $1000 +/- savings over the 2690 WUXi/WUXi2 would be excellent!

NEC P221W looking good, we're working on a review. As good or better than any monitor we have for a lot less money.

HP is coming out with a new monitor in April 2010 with an IPS frame. Its' supposed to beat the NEC with a price point of about $400. Model HP ZR 24W. Would love to see a review.

@GGoldie, if you buy me one, I'll review it! :)

Typically we only review things that we bought because we needed it for production, so we're not a traditional review site in that we review everything that comes out. But our strength is we can give insight that review sites can't because of what we do ever day that no review site can quantify.

There are a couple other new color accurate displays coming out from NEC and Dell, see my twitter feed @richseiling.

It's exciting that manufacturers are giving us more options.

Hi Russ,

Haven't had time to do a formal write-up, but the color accuracy is excellent, as good as the more expensive NECs. The down side is that text doesn't look as good as the ISP panel displays because of the less expensive technology used.

I'm curious how the Dell UltraSharpTM U2410 compares. It has a ISP screen and a similar price and color accuracy.
